Article Title: Decision Support Systems Using Intelligent Paradigms for Profitability Control

Decision-making is a process of choosing among alternative courses of action for solving complicated problems where multi-criteria objectives are involved. The past few years have witnessed a growing recognition of Soft Computing (SC) technologies that underlie the conception, design and utilization of intelligent systems. This work is motivated by the task of manufacturing recycled paper by optimizing the system decision variables through minimization of costs and maximization of profits. In this paper, we develop a Decision Support Engine (DSE) which consists of cognitive and emotional filters as sub components. The cognitive filter analyses the alternative output reports of the fuzzy-neural engine on the basis of objective feelings of the paper recycling experts. While emotional filter analyses the output reports of the cognitive filter on the basis of subjective feelings of the paper recycling experts. The framework is designed in Java 1.6 development environment, MySQL Database Management System 6.0, NetBeans 6.5.1, Microsoft Windows XP version 2002, Pentium IV Personal computer. The model provides a platform for evaluating and ranking of all alternative output reports of fuzzy-neural models for profitability control in paper recycling industries. The framework helps to boost decision making, improve production accuracy, reliability, robustness and profit generated by recycling Industries
