Article Title: Traffic Analysis in Mobile Communication in Nigeria
by Osahenvemwen O.A. and Emagbetere J.

Abstract:
This paper is focused on traffic analysis in Mobile Communication network (GSM). Traffic analysis is aim at making subscribers satisfied with the Quality of Service (QOS) rendered, by the mobile communication network operators. In order to obtain satisfactory QOS based on traffic analysis, the traffic flow (offered and carried traffic) must be measured and monitored at a regular time interval. In this research work, traffic data (A-interface arrival record on the MSC) are collected from the Operation and Maintenance Centre (OMC) which was deployed has a measuring device. The investigation covers, 10 routes in a period of six months. The result shows that the offered traffic and carried traffic both have a slight variation from each other. This indicates that the blocks calls experience in the routes, within that period of time is minimum. Also, the MSC11 (1) has the highest available TCHs, followed by BSC8 (12), indicating that high amount of subscribers can access the network through that A-intreface without experiencing more block calls. High utilization in each routes can also leads to block call. Therefore, this paper help mobile operators to carry out traffic analysis on their network and make the necessary adjustment to obtained good QOS
